I’ve always found that before you can succeed at something, you have to really understand it first.  How can you succeed in business if you don’t know what business is really all about?

So let me ask you a question …

Do you know what business really is, at it’s most basic level?

Very basically, business is really about exchanging value in some way.  It’s a trade of some sort.  In other words, when you are in business, you are a merchant.

And, as a merchant, you’re saying “I’ll give you X if you give me Y.”

X is your product and Y is the money.

If you’re an affiliate marketer selling an ebook, then X is the ebook and Y is the commissions you earn.

If you’re a copywriter writing a sales letter for someone who pays you $5,000, then X is your copywriting service and Y is the $5,000.

If you’re giving something away, then X is the item that you are giving away and Y is a person’s name and email address.

How can this make you more moeny?

Well, if you knew that there was a group of people who were already willing to give tons of Y’s to anyone who would give them a Z, but that this group of people wouldn’t even give a single Y in trade for an X, would you still be selling X?  Or would you want to sell Z?

Of course!  You’d immediately want to sell Z, right?

With any business — online or off — all you need to do is:

  1. Find a group of people (demographic data)
  2. Who want a certain product (buying data)
  3. Sell them what they want!

It’s as easy as that!

Can you see the key in this scenario?

Those who know how to find the group of people or know how to find what a group is buying, will come out with the greatest chunk of change!

So how do you find that group of people?

How do you find out what they want?

You use market research!

But here’s the problem.

All the information products out there usually say something like “Research your niche”.  Not one of them shows you how to do the research to find the group of people or find out what they want to buy.

Everyone always ASSUMES that you know what they mean when they use the term “RESEARCH”.  Yet you and I both know that the term is just too vague!

RESEARCH can mean …

  • Looking up a list of keywords that will help you get good search engine rankings
  • Looking at the demographics of your market
  • Looking at the buying habits of your market
  • A myriad of other types of searches!

These are each distinct types of research.  They each require different types of research.

If you know how to do the research, do you know how to interpret the data?

And, if you know how to interpret the data, do you know what to do with the data?

I have talked to too many people who simply don’t even know where to start!

So I went on a mission.

My mission was to find someone who is an expert at research and who is just as good at teaching as doing research.

Wait until you see what I found!  Or should I say WHO I found!
