Back to driving traffic …
Feb 22nd, 2007 by Gina Gaudio-Graves
Don’t be angry at me for leaving you hanging in my discussion about driving traffic.
I’ve been away at JV Alert LIVE in Orlando for the last week. The good news is that
while I was there, I picked up some GREAT tips that I’ll be sharing with you about …
You guessed it … driving traffic!
One of the people that I ran into in Orlando was Ron Capps, the Niche Prof. Ron and
I have known each other for awhile now, but I didn’t really know much about what
Ron did in his internet business.
Not only does Ron run one of the most successful sites in a very unique niche (he’s
into Chili and Chili Peppers), but he also works with Harris Fellman (who I also spent
some time with at the event) and Richard East in their Traffic Assistant program. (If
you aren’t familiar with that program, you can check it out at:
http://www.TrafficAssistant.com.)
If anyone knows about driving traffic, it’s Ron.
One of the things that Ron and I talked about was the power of using Social
Bookmarking for driving traffic. Ron has a very unique way of doing that. He tells
me that he often writes about it on his Marketing Profs
site.
I expect that my phone will be ringing in minutes with Ron calling to demand that I
take this post down as soon as I share with you what he does to get a high up ranking
in Google for any keyword of his choosing (and often he does this in under 48 hours
too!). But I wouldn’t feel right if I kept this critical information from my loyal readers,
so here it is …
If you’re trying to break into the top 10 in Google, try the following:
First sign up for an account at any Social Networking site like MySpace, Friendster, or
any of the other myriad of these sites that are springing up everywhere.
Set up a blog for your profile.
Put up a new blog post and use the keyword that you want to be found under both in the
title as well as in an anchor text. (The anchor text is the text that shows up in the post
for a link leading to another page or another location on the same page.)
Next go and add your blog post to one of the social bookmarking sites that are out
there. There are tons of these to choose from as well such as Digg, Technorati, or many
of the others.
In your blog post, make sure that you really draw your reader into what you have to
say. Really make the reader WANT to read your post and WANT to tell others about it
as well. In other words, don’t just tell them that the sky is blue … share something that
is both interesting and valuable to the readers.
That should drive a ton of visitors to your site and the added benefit of the increased
search engine ranking should help as well. Of course, how high you rank for your
chosen keyword will depend a great deal upon which of the social networking sites you
select, but I’m sure that with a little testing you’ll be able to get great results.
One of the other great people that I met at JV Alert was George Levy from MySpace
Mastership. In my next post, I’ll be telling you a little more about what I learned from
George. The information that he’ll be sharing is SO powerful that I won’t even be able
to tell you all of it here. Some of it will only be available when George joins me and
Henry Gold in an upcoming teleconference for our Apprentices.
If you’d like to join us for that, though, you’ll find all the details for the program at:
TheMarketingUniversity.com
Let me know how you make out with the tip that Ron shared with me. I’m still playing
catch up from the seminar so I haven’t had a chance to try the technique myself yet.
But you can be sure that I’ll be trying it out as soon as I get the chance!
To Your Abundant Online Success!
